• Who is O. Henry? Oh Henry (pictured above) was a chocolate bar. Before that, he was a short-story writer.
• And what's the O. Henry Pun-Off? The Pun-Off is the highest-level pun competition in the world! Fearless puntestants battle in two categories: 1) 90-second 'prepared pun' wordplay orations, and 2) spuntaneous yet nerve-wracking 'sudden death' punning. • So? The Pun Gents need to get to Austin, Texas, before high noon on May 14 to dish out some international pun-ishment!
• Why? Not just a quest for glory, but a patriotic duty. See, there was that War of 1812 between Canada and the U.S., but it ended in a stalemate; neither side was a clear victor. Now it's time for Canada to claim hegemony over the Yanks; armed with lethal web-puns the Pun Gents will tip the scales for good!
• And? Pat and Rhain need your help to cross the 1650 miles from Toronto to Austin, to defeat the host Americans and hold the punning chalice high!
• Great; how much do you need? Total $1283.66Cdn. That's for two plane tickets ($475 each plus airport taxes) to Texas and hotel accomodations for two nights. Registration for the Pun-Off is free; all other costs will be covered by the Gents.
